Description

If you have never been to the park before, this is may be a great option for your family because this tour will try to see every aspect in yellowstone in a single day such as multiple bear and wolf sightings, geyser eruptions, hidden hot springs, the most iconic sites and viewpoints in the park, large waterfalls, off the beaten path trails, a beautiful and secluded lunch on the shores of Yellowstone Lake, the cleanest restroom stops, historic architecture such as The Old Faithful Inn and The Lake Hotel, and moving around the park in a calculated efficient manner to make it all happen! After several years of touring Yellowstone we have developed the perfect formula to cover all of this in a single day and avoiding the crowds so we are while moving through the park as if we have it all to ourselves. We guarantee the most wildlife sightings possible of grizzly bear, wolves, bison, black bear, moose, and other species on the day of your tour.  Wildlife activity and movements change through out the year by being in the park every single day we have an intimate knowledge of when and where to go.  Your guide will put your family in the best position for wildlife viewing before we check off the other sites.

Countless wildlife sightings, large waterfalls, deep canyons, erupting geysers, secret hot springs, bubbling paint pots, and multiple family friendly off the beaten path hikes/ easy walks is what you can expect on the Best of Yellowstone Tour.  On this tour we will go for an early morning game drive to maximize our opportunity of seeing bears and wolves (bison and elk can and will be seen all day) as well as all of the ICONIC sites that can be seen on the lower loop such as: Old Faithful, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Upper and Lower Yellowstone Falls,  Old Faithful Inn, and the Grand Prismatic Spring (by request only).

In addition through out the day we will take multiple off the beaten path hikes/ easy walks that go to lesser known areas of Yellowstone so your family can experience the quieter side of the park that are away from the busy boardwalks that few other tourist get to see.

To start your tour your Wildlife Biologist Guide will take your family on an early morning game drive to the best areas of the park for prime wildlife viewing to safely view animals such as: Grizzly Bear, Wolves, Bison, Black Bear, Moose, Elk, and many other species.  On every tour every tour we provide binoculars, two spotting scopes, a complimentary take home videos of all wildlife seen through our spotting scopes, lunch, snacks, coffee, sodas, sparkling options, and waters.

Midday we will take a break to enjoy a secluded picnic style lunch along the shores of Yellowstone Lake where we will have some of the most picturesque views of the entire day of the highest peaks in the park that surround the lake.

Each tour comes with two high-end spotting scopes and binoculars for everyone in your family or group. We will go out of our way to take you to some hidden gems  to get you off the beaten path and away from other tourists!  There are a handful of great bathrooms scattered around the park. You just have to know where to find them. Do not worry we will stop at all of them!

Yellowstone spans 2.2 million acres, which means this tour involves a fair amount of time spent in the vehicle although we get out of car often. For those of you looking for options with less time spent driving, please review our 2 Day DEEP DIVE of Yellowstone.

When you click Book Now disregard the time listed as 7:00am on the booking software.  The software forces us to list an arbitrary time.  Your tour will start much earlier than 7:00am unless a later time is requested by the client but we always recommend the earliest start time possible.

*Animals roam the park freely; we cannot guarantee all wildlife sightings but we will try our best!

Wildlife Viewing Guide

All of the species listed below can be seen April to Nov. It is likely we will see them on all of tours in April, May, June, and October. Due to the higher temperatures in July and August viewing bears and wolves may be challenging and limited to early in the morning. The Wildlife Viewing Guide can be used as an indicator to view each species when they are the most active.

Wolves

Year around

Early mornings and carcasses provide wolf watching opportunities. We see them all year long. Late July and August can be difficult due to summer heat

Grizzly Bears

April, May, June & October

Spring and fall provide milder temperatures which bears prefer. Late July, August, and early September can be difficult due to high summer temperatures

Bison

Seen all year round

Can be seen all year long. Often near roadways. The Bison rut mid summer is a spectacle where males can be seen fighting/ locking horns. May and April is great for bison calves

Black Bears

Late April, May, and June

Black bears are seen easiest on our tours in June when all the vegetation is greening up.

Elk

Seen year round but September’s has the best viewing experience

Hearing bull elk bugle, fighting other males, and chasing each other around is something you will not forget!

Others

Moose are best seen in spring, fall, and winter. River Otters in the winter. Bighorn Sheep, Red foxes, and coyotes commonly seen all year.
